| Friday, December 5, 2008 | | Distance | 10 | I own 2 of these, a 28oz and a 30oz. I gave an "8" for durability because I've used them for only one 12-game season, but so far, no waves or dents - and about 3 guys are using the bat during each game. The 28oz absolutely crushes the ball...I mean, you can actually feel the sweet spot give and mash it. I like an end-loaded feel to a bat. They say these are evenly balanced, but when compared to my Easton Stealth Comp (which I since sold to a teammate) it definitely has an end-loaded feel. I then went out and bought the 30oz thinking the extra 2oz would pay off even more, but duh dumba**, that extra 2oz goes into the handle end, thus canceling out the end-loaded feel. So even if you're a big guy and can handle the weight of a 30oz, I think the 28oz swings much better. Our league uses what they say is a .44/375 compression ball, but I think that's a stretch. These are the absolute WORST sounding softballs you've ever heard when hit. They feel like .40 cor. Anyway, this bat is perfect for these types of mush balls. The other league I play in uses a seemingly much harder .44/375 comp ball. I have a feeling the bat might dent or wave a bit after a couple of seasons use, but this would be equivalent to the first Demarini Distance I got back in '98. The performance was worth the tradeoff if you could make the 2 bats (the original bat, plus the replacement - if necessary) last a year or so. And at this price, you can't go wrong with this bat, just make sure you like bats with a bit of an end load before purchasing.
